A Good Night

The second-best news is, Katy’s new pain medication kept her sleeping through the night and lasted about 12 hrs in one dose! We’re so grateful that she had some relief.

The best news is… the doctor has concurred that we can make plans to take Katy home. Katy is excited about that ideas since she has been in the hospital for 10 days now. Right now dad and mom (Paul & Dawn) are looking at home health care, but Katy has to be able to drink enough water on her own in order to come home from the hospital. So far, most of her liquid has been via IV drip. Dawn is going to try to give her baby food today. We’re praying that it will stay down.

We wanted to thank Jennifer Blugerman for spending the night at the hospital with Katy last night and giving Dawn some much needed rest. We’re also so grateful for (Aunt) Julie Wensley for staying with Katy for a few nights and bringing her food and giving Dawn emotional support.

Even though this has been a hard few days, Katy’s spirit remains bright and cheerful. We were able to bring our dog Ellie to the hospital on Tuesday night and that lifted Katy’s spirit too. The hospital allows dogs because they know it often encourages people.

Do you know how loved you are? I’d donate an organ if it would help you. But probably not my brain; yours is far superior! I’m praying for you big time.
