Hello from Katy

Hello Everyone,

Katy couldn’t post a message herself yet, but she did want to send you a picture. Make sure to read the previous post as well.

*EDIT* - A quick note about Katys stuffed animal there. It’s a lamb they named Gideon. It is fitting to Katy because God said “Go in the strength that you have” and Gideon said “But I’m the least of the least (or the smallest of the small).” God’s reply was “But I will be with you.” Paraphrase of Judges chapter 6:14-16.

Hello Everyone

  1. Danae Says:

You are looking better! YAY!! I love the pictures Colin put up.

  2. Cheryl Hasson Says:

Katy and Dawn, just to let you know that I am praying for you! I seen your prayer request on Rainbow Forest’s pray e-mail chain. I know you are in good hands…the LORD’s. Praying for you. Cheryl

  3. Linda Roley Says:

I am Danae’s Aunt Linda and we are sure praying for you.
It is really hard sometimes, in the midst of such difficult trials, to remember that our precious Lord loves us far more than we could possibly hope for or imagine.
Today I am praying John 14:26&27 for you, your family, and your medical team.
“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
    Linda Roley

  4. Kristin Dunker Says:

    Hi Katy!
Lookin’ good girl! :-) Jesse and I are praying for you and your family…we hope you will be heading home soon, and we rejoice in all the good news of yesterday! We hope you are enjoying peaceful, blessed rest and are feeling some of your strength returning. Our Good Shepherd will lead you beside the still waters and restore your soul (and body too). Love and a hug from, ~Kristin

  5. Aunt Julie Says:

I love that sweet smile! Can I have some of that milkshake you’re drinking?

  6. Carrie Thompson Says:

What exciting news! I am continuing to pray for you. 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your cares on Him; for He cares for you.”

    Loving & Praying for you,

  7. Barbara Walker Says:

You look great! How blessed we all are to see such direct answer to prayer. Praying for that peace that passes all understanding for all of you. I know God will give each of you the grace to get through this. He is so faithful!

    Love - Barbara and Virgil

  8. Jennifer Shallenberger Says:

I am so thankful for this site, Katy!! It is so encouraging to have updates on you constantly. :-) I am glad to see you looking so cheerful. I hope and pray you continue to get stronger and feel better. Our God is so good!!
With love and prayers and a hug too,
    Jen :-)

  9. Jennifer Blugerman Says:

Hey, Katy girl! I’m so encouraged with all of the recent updates! You look great! I hope you had a good night last night and were able to sleep! We prayed for you at small group last night and everyone sends their love. Emma and Matt have enjoyed playing in your creek when we’ve been checking on Ellie(Katy’s Creek they call it). Yesterday they were “fishing” with willow branches and making boats out of bits of bark and twigs. Emma enjoys wading but avoids the “allergy” (algae) haha! I think every childhood should include lots of creek time! Thanks for sharing yours! Ellie was a good sport and enjoyed a rousing game of fetch with Matt, and the cats got lots of love from Emma. We love you and pray that you continue to gain your strength! May the Lord be your peace when you feel afraid, your hope when you feel discouraged, your laughter when you feel like crying, and your joy in all circumstances!

    In His grip,

  10. Aunt Julie Says:

Hey Katy, I just emailed Heather and gave her permission to link to your blog from her site. Your mom wanted your story to bring encouragement to others and give glory to God. I told her what a blessing she has been to all of us here. We love you!

  11. Lael Moreland Says:

I agree with Jen S. This site is wonderful and a blessing. It is good to continue hearing of your condition and now to see pictures of you. You look so much better than I had orginally expected, with going through everything you have. It seems the Lord has given you your much needed strength! We are still praying for you over here in California, and constantly checking your updates. I can’t wait to be home so that we can see you. I love you dear,
    Love Lael.

  12. Karen Tillman Says:

    Dear Katy,

Heather Kirkwood told me about you, and so I thought I would check up on you and let you know that you are not alone. I am the Regional Coordinator Mid Atlantic USA for the HPS Network, and believe it or not am not very far away from you. I think about 2 hours at most in Greensboro, NC. I am 42 years old, was born albino, developed the Inflammatory Bowel end of things very very early (was misdiagnosed as Granulomatous Colitis ie Crohn’s Disease) at age 9. The bleeding episodes were incredible, and I have experienced quite a few of those over time, and have through the grace of God survived. It is truly a miracle I survived, as I didn’t even receive a diagnosis of HPS until I was 38 years old. Anyway if you would like to talk with me or any of your family would like to talk, please feel free to contact me at 336 954 3604. Take care and remember and this to shall pass!!!! Karen Tillman Regional Coordinaor Mid Atlantic USA HPS Network

  13. Jen Larson Says:

Katy, glad you’re doing so well today. Thanks for taking care of my mom last night. Enjoy your electric blanket and stay warm!! MMMMMMM!! Still praying for you and will try to get by again sometime next week. Hugs! =)

  14. Elizabeth Harris Says:

So glad to see your beautiful eyes and smile. I am praying for you, along with many, many others.

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Amen

HE keeps on making a way,
    Elizabeth Harris

  15. Laura Says:

You look GREAT Katy. And of course you can’t ever go with out the lipstick. hehe I love it! I wish I could come visit you, but well seeing as I can only drive 10 miles an hour in a parking lot, well lets just say it might take me like a week to get to your house.hehe I’m still praying for you though. And the pictures helped me feel more like I was there. I love you Katy!!!!! *HUGS* times a one million, gazillion, and ten!

  16. Barbara Thompson Says:

    Dear Katy,
How good to have news and pictures of you. Praise the Lord for encouraging news–He is faithful. We are remembering you and your family in our prayers. Tonight I am praying Proverbs 3:24 for you:

    When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
    Barbara Thompson

  17. Anne Poler Says:

  18. Anne Poler Says:
