The Catheter Is In!

Here’s a quick post to tell you about an answer to prayer. Katy got her catheter put in her arm to start her TPN feed which will start at 6pm tonight. She did well during the procedure, and had almost no bleeding from it. The other good thing about it is that the catheter insert has a port for drawing blood, so Katy won’t need any more needle pricks to get blood during this stay. She is resting right now.

Thanks for your prayers!

  1. Heather Kirkwood Says:

That’s awesome news! Yeah! No more sticks! We’ll keep praying here!

  2. Sherry Thompson Says:

I am Julie Wensley’s sister and even though I have never met Katy I feel like I know her from the Wensley’s, especially Danae, who thinks so much of Katy. Julie & Dan have been keeping us informed of Katy’s situation and I just want you all to know we are praying for her. We serve a God of miracles and we are expecting that for Katy.

  3. Evelyn & Dick Kendall Says:

We are Julie’s parents, & like Sherry, we too feel like we know Katy because of Danae’s long time friendship with her. They have a special “cousin” relationship, that we pray will continue for many years. As a family, we have experienced so many wonderful answers to prayer, & we are trusting the Lord for another one- for Katy. We send our love to Katy & her family.

  4. Dan Says:

    More fresh flowers!

  5. Danae Says:

I heard this song today and thought of you.

Praise You in this Storm by Casting Crowns Listen Here

    I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
    And wiped our tears away
And stepped in and saved the day
Once again, I say Amen, and it is still raining

    As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
    I’m with you
    As your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
    And takes away

I’ll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
    You are who you are
    No matter where I am
    And every tear I’ve cried
    You hold in your hand
    You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm

    I remember when
    I stumbled in the wind
    You heard my cry
    You raised me up again
    My strength is almost gone
    How can I carry on
    If I can’t find you

I lift my eyes into the hills
Where does my help come from
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth
