Things are progressing nicely. The first “step down” was complete and by last night Katy was no longer bothered by the quivering and temperature changes she had been going through. So, instead of putting on her next patch she decided to take the next step down! After the next three days she will be over this part of the process. The one funny thing she said about being on a lot of pain medication was that it was very handy when it came time to tweeze her eyebrows. It was painless!
Yesterday we visited her eye doctor. The spasms had affected her eyesight. She complained of eyestrain and blurred vision for hours after each spasm. Her glasses were not working for her. This was a concern and we went to find out what was going on. The vision in her right eye (her better eye) had improved! She is still legally blind in that eye, but her vision had improved enough that it was being overcorrected by her old glasses. So something good did come from those spasms!
In all these up and down times, we have had a constant peace settled over our home. It has been a real sanctuary for our souls. These early autumn days are such a treat. In His presence there is fullness of joy. At His right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Ps 16:11)
