Thursday Afternoon

We have returned home and Katy is resting. We have had some adjustments to make and we all seem to be (by the grace of God) lifting each other up. I keep holding on to those in the HPS family who say it will get better. We are having a friend stay with us tonight, who has the heart of a warrior when it comes to facing challenges in life. It is a great comfort to entertain someone tonight who has walked through many valleys himself, but boldly proclaims the word of the Lord.

I returned home today to a clean house, thanks to a dear woman from our church who actually likes scrubbing floors! I can’t say enough how much I appreciate that practical help. Thank you!

We are hoping for some much needed rest tonight. If you would like to say a specific prayer, Katy has had a reaction to some medication (we think) and has had a headache all day. She is in a dark room with sun glasses on, and a heating pad on her head. It started last evening and kept her up most of the night. We are praying for relief or endurance.

    Dear Katy and Dawn,

We are all so sorry to hear that Katy is not feeling well today. Please know that we are praying for you and your family. We know that God is in full control and he will give you the strength to get through this health challenge right now. We love you and we miss talking to you. Please keep us posted on how things are going.

    God Bless You,
    Candice & Crystal

  4. Karen Tillman Says:

    Dear Campbell family,

I know things seem very trying right now, but hold on tight to your faith and your love for each other. That is what will keep you sustained during these trying times. All I can say is that each of us have had our trials, and though they seem to be ongoing, it is God, our family and friends that give us much needed strength to draw upon. Keep those positive thoughts up, and when you can’t think positive anymore, let the rest of us carry your burden for awhile. Thank you so much for sharing with us, as that allows us to share with you, and give encouragement.
Drug reactions can really be frustrating, and unfortunately you can’t always plan for them. On the plus side, you seem to have a good medical team backing you up, and remember NIH is the best too. Oh, and give Katy a big HUG from me.
    Keep you eyes on Him
    Karen Tillman

  5. Jess Lankford Says:

    Katy and Dawn-
Thank you for keeping us updated. I have prayed for Katy all day and Noah and I prayed for her before bedtime….I know it’s discouraging - but we have a God who will never leave us or forsake us - He is right there with you through this - holding you up when you feel you can’t go another step. We will continue to pray. We love you guys.

  6. Heather Kirkwood Says:

Hang in there Dawn and Katy! (And the rest of the Campbell clan) - this too shall pass. I’ve had a few bad reactions to drugs over the years. While not fun, at least the side effects go away. I can hardly wait for Katy to be on the computer again. Grin!
