Wednesday Update

Hi everyone, and thank you for the prayers and words of encouragement. They are needed today and greatly appreciated. The pain is not yet under control, so Katy has been frustrated by the desire to eat and the pain that hits her 10 seconds after trying a few bites. She did start some new anti-inflamatory medication today. The directions on the bottle say, “Take this medication with meals.” It’s the “meals” part that is the difficulty. With my human eyes, I can not see how this is going to work out. I am asking God to give me eyes of faith. I asked Katy how she would describe today for the blog readers, and she said, “long.”

Katy and I drove to the hospital together for her blood work. It was so peaceful with the sunshine, blue skies, fall colors, and harp music in the CD player. As we were driving we started planning another vacation. This time we dreamed of going out west to see the desert. She tried to imagine how different it is compared to the other places we had seen. If any of you have any digital pictures of your trip to the desert, please post them. Katy is always interested in what other people are doing and the places they have been. We would especially like to see some of your family pictures from the 70’s! Oh, that polyester and bell bottoms! Go ahead make our day!

  1. Trisha Ferris Says:

I’m so sorry we didn’t get to keep our date today, but I’ll give you a raincheck. OK? My prayers go up continually for you, beautiful lady.

  2. Julie Wensley Says:

You have been in our thoughts and prayers constantly today. Our hearts grieve with you. We are here if you need us anytime - day or night.

  3. Carrie Thompson Says:

    Dear Katy,
We just got home from the beach. It hardly rained–only a few days. Mom & I enjoyed shopping on the Island quite a bit. We bought new decorations for the upstairs bathroom, as we are going to redecorate it “beachy”.

Mom, Tommy, Nicky, Jeb & I picked up about 7 gallons of shells! Dad just rolled his eyes. Really, though, we have plans for them! Haha! :-)

I’ve got to go. I love you & continue to keep you in our prayers! I am sorry I don’t have any pictures for you. To see pics of Alaska & Canada, check out Zach’s & Adam’s blogs(they posted them early September).

  4. Karen Tillman Says:

I don’t know that I have any pictures from the 70’s as my parents would have all those. However, my husband as been to the grand canyon on a business trip once, and we went as a family in 1998 or 99, plus we drove across the desert between Nevada and California as well. They aren’t digital, but I can still scan them and send you some of them. I will see what I can find okay? I love to travel, and am so glad that Katy is thinking about the future, as that is a positive thing. As always you are in our thoughts and prayers.
    Love always
    Karen Tillman
