Thanksgiving Eve

This evening we had the good news that Katy’s blood work is showing signs of great improvement. Her lipase and amylase levels were a little high yet but consistent with the pancreas problems from not eating for so long. The bacteria cultures after twenty-four hours were negative. The lab will continue to check them for any bacteria growth for another forty-eight hours. Her platelet count is at 256,000. All of this news was very encouraging. While the swelling in her neck is gone, Katy’s hands and feet are still giving her a problem, but she walked into the surgeon’s office on her own two feet. That visit was also encouraging and tonight Katy is free of the tubing and adhesives that are all a part of IV feeding and medications. She is happy in her home tonight. Right now she is sitting beside me making place cards for tomorrow’s family dinner.

We’ll be thinking of you tomorrow as you celebrate God’s faithfulness. We wish you all a happy Thanksgiving.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting, and all the people said, “Amen!” and praise the Lord. I Chronicles 16:36

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” - Psalms 100:4-5

What a wonderful testimony you are of the mercies of God. What a wonderful story you have to tell to all generations. It’s amazing to think that God can use so much suffering to bring Himself so much glory. Your trials have been the catylist for so much prayer and praise, crying out and rejoicing, supplication and thanksgiving. I thank God for the spiritual edification that your journey has produced in you, your family, and so many of us that you have allowed to have a small taste though this blog. I thank God for you, Katie; your faith in the goodness of God, your joyful spirit in spite of the circumstances, and your thankfulness for the mercies of God. I thank God for your family who have been fighting for you both physically and spiritually, and who have been faithfully updating the rest of us each step of the way.
I pray that you have a wonderful thanksgiving, celebrating the goodness of God in your life.
    David, Heather and Noel

Katy, that is a beautiful testimony. I just hope that there will be those who don’t know our Savior who will read it.
