Today I was listening to Katy telling Annelise about the creek in front of our home and all the little critters in it. She was telling her about the willow trees and all the adventures at Nonny and Papa’s house including Ellie the dog. She spoke about all the fun they will have together with the dollhouse that her dad and brothers made for her when she was a little girl. I captured the picture below during one of these conversations. All these dreams and conversations with Annelise have helped her through her foot pain over the weekend, and given her “a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). While Katy wasn’t quite up to going to church early this morning, she slept until early afternoon, then we went back to the hospital to have another look at the sweetest baby in the world.

Some of you have commented about the name Annelise Katherine. Jennifer had the idea to combine two family names to form the baby’s middle name. The combination of Kathryn (Katy) and Erin (after Jennifer’s sister) formed the name Katherine. Annelise will be proud of her name. I’m sure she will be thankful for her two Aunts. And she’ll really be impressed by her clever Mommy!

Thank you for all those wonderful congratulatory comments! We printed them out for Colin and Jennifer and took them to the hospital.
