Wednesday

We’re trying to catch up on several nights of lost sleep. I have been too tired to write. The pain in Katy’s back continues to keep her up at night. This has been a hard few days, but we have had some joy times that keep our spirits up. When I run into someone I know or answer the phone the question usually comes up, “How is Katy?” If I look at the circumstances as I see them daily and nightly, things are not good. If I think about the things we are all learning about suffering, God’s mercy, and the heavenly rest that awaits us in eternity, I would have to say, “Things have never been better.”

Of all the things Jesus could have left us before departing physically from this world He chose to leave us with peace. If He had chosen to leave us with prosperity or good health, we all know those things would not offer lasting peace. In recent times we have opened the Bible, hungrier than ever, only to find words that immediately put our hearts at peace and we know we can go the distance in the race that has been set before us.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” -John 14:27

I can relate. I’ve got a lot of pain in my lower back and am going in for a kidney sonogram Jan. 22nd. They think it might be kidney stones - which I have discovered are somewhat common among people with digestive problems to start with. So, I’m trying to drink tons and tons of water! The doc. also thought it might be a muscle spasm and has given me some muscle relaxers - but they have no effect on the pain so I’m wondering if it isn’t the stones. Who knows. I’m just ready to be past it and get some sleep! Grin! I know you know how I feel - GRIN!!!!

    Dawn -
I always read your blog and then think - “man - they are learning some tough, amazing things!” Jesus is the best teacher and I think you all have quite a classroom going on over there. I am in awe of you guys and the way you learn your lessons!

We love you and are praying for the pain.
    Jes
