Your Prayers Are Appreciated

We are getting ready for our trip to Chapel Hill tomorrow. I am asking for special prayer for Katy to be able to tolerate the trip. She has had a very hard day. The inflammation of her disease has again attacked her body. She has not been able to eat very much and is in great pain when she tries. As we know according to God’s word that “all things work together for our good, for those who are in Christ Jesus,” we believe this flare up is the best way for this new doctor to assess the problems she is experiencing. We are thankful that we have the comfort of the Holy Spirit to keep us calm and hopeful.

I will write an update as soon as we arrive back home. We plan to leave the Chapel Hill area as soon as the appointment is over in the early afternoon. Thank you for encouraging us with messages and prayers.

    Katy dear,
I’ll most definitely be praying. I’m sorry you’re having a flare-up, but I’m sure the Lord has His reasons. Stay strong!!
    Love and prayers,
    Jen :-)

  2. Julie Wensley Says:

Tomorrow is an exciting day! We are praying for you all - that Katy will feel a little better, that you’ll have safe travel and widsom for the Dr. and all of you. We are praying that God will go before you. We love you!

The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you.
    Deut 1:30

  3. Patricia Says:

    Sleep well….all of you.
We pray travel mercies, comfort of Katy, and a peace of mind for each of you.
May the Great Physician grant the doctors His insight and wisdom.
    Shalom,
    Ib & Patricia

P.S. With many of these coditions with various clusters of symptoms, flare-ups are often triggered and definately intensified by stress. Although you all are trusting in God’s guidance, any type of testing (in addition to travel) is a stressor for the patient. There’s the stress of strange surroundings, of having to convey explanations once again to a new person, etc. Maybe a long hot soak in the tub with those calming ingredients might be good prior to “take off” for N. Carolina….and back off to “gentle foods” for breakfast (unless they are requiring Katy arrive on an empty stomach, for testing’s sake).

  5. Jess Lankford Says:

    Hey guys!
Dawn - it was soo good to talk to you last night. You are such an amazing, Godly mom. Every time we talk - I feel like I walk away with a renewed sense of my calling as a mom…

We are praying for you today - that the car ride would be easy, the doctor would be wise and that the trip would be overall profitable!

    We love ya’ll!
    Jes

  6. Heather Kirkwood Says:

I can hardly wait for you to get home. I’m praying the doc will have some ideas for you. It’s funny - as I started to read this post I thought, what great timing for a flare up, and then I got to the next sentence and you all had the exact same thought.

As for scrapbooking, I’d be happy to leave all the scrapbooking up to Katy! Grin!

  7. Sandy Says:

Praying that you had safe travels and a hope-filled visit with the doctor.

  8. Tiffany Allen Says:

    Katy,

Hope all went well with your doctor’s appointment today.

    Love and Prayers,

    Tiffany
