I started giving Katy a new medication to help her with the nerve pain she is having. It was thought by the pain management doctors at UVA that Katy needs a different type of pain medication to address the problems she is having. I agree with that and we are trying something new. The side effect however is sleepiness. Tonight we were right in the middle of a mystery thriller on DVD when I realized Katy was sound asleep. Paul and I tried to wake her to get her to bed and she is sleeping so deeply we can not rouse her long enough to get up the stairs. Paul said, “I think this medication will be great for traveling. One dose and we can get her all the way to New York without her even knowing it!”
Katy ate a little more today; five hundred calories. She also stepped on the scale and has not dropped any more weight since last week. We are hopeful this trend continues especially through the coming week. I called today about a van rental for the trip and found it to be very reasonable. Paul is going to make a bed for Katy in the back of the van and she should have a very comfortable ride. Thank you for praying for us. We know our strength will hold up because of the power behind us.
