Sabbath Rest March 4, 2007

Katy is home. She is sitting up reading a magazine and just finished a little dinner. This is the Lord’s doing. At the hospital yesterday, one of Katy’s nurses came to check on her. Katy was already up taking care of herself and brushing her teeth. Her nurse took my arm and said, “I have been a nurse for 40 years and I have never seen anyone bounce back after gall bladder surgery like this.” I said, “Becky, there are thousands of people praying about this, and what you see is an act of God.” Her eyes twinkled and she said, “That’s exactly right!”

Katy’s eyes are bright and we have noticed the greatest change in her overnight. She told me that she can sit up without pain and I expect that in a couple of days she will be on her computer shouting praise through her keyboard.

Julie encouraged us with this scripture as she related it to the journey our family is on at this time. I’m sure as you head into Monday and a new work week, you will be encouraged too, so I’ll close with this. “Blessed is the man whose strength is in you, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; till each one appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84:5-7. May you go from strength to strength this week no matter what comes your way. We love you. Thank you for praying!

Dawn, Katy ……..let’s kick this off!

“Come, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who stand by night in the house of the LORD! Lift up your hands to the Holy Place and bless the LORD”. Psalm 134:1-2

I praise Him so loudly from Joy because I know, that I know, that I know that He is healing you Katy!!!!

You are in my prayers ALWAYS and you are such an inspiration to me, your whole family is!

    I love you

  2. Kristin Dunker Says:

I was praying for you Saturday morning Katy, and just had a soft peace about your surgery, KNOWING that it was going really well. How wonderful to hear the confirmation that it had indeed! I’ll be by your house the first half of this week to drop off the set. -
    Love and a hug,

  3. Doris Harriff Says:

“I am the Lord that healeth thee.” (Exodus 15:26).

YAY!!! I knew the Lord would bring you through this surgery with flying colors!! It’s so wonderful to know that you are doing so much better and I hope that means you’ll be feeling good enough for me to come see you sometime this week. Maybe a Jane Austen night? If you want me to see if Sarah and Lael are free I can. Just let me know and if you don’t feel up to it, that’s fine–we’ll do it when you are!!
    Love and prayers and PRAISE!!
    Jen :-)

I’m so thrilled about your successful surgery & quick recovery. I know you’re glad to bew back home & without pain. What a blessing. I’m looking forward to hearing your account of the last few days, though your mom has done a great job herself (Colin, too!) May everything you attempt today & tomorrow be accompanied by praise to the One who led all concerned to agree to the gall bladder surgery. Such a tiny organ to cause so much grief!
    Love in the Lamb,

  7. Sandy Says:

    Hooray! God is good!
