Strength returns

Katy had another good day. Two days in a row we have been able to do a few things on the “to do” list. We have so many things we want to do that we caution each other to slow down. Katy has had very little pain today in her bones and muscles, so she helped me move furniture. I don’t know what it is about us, but when we feel like taking charge of our life we move furniture and try a different look. I guess we feel it is important to have control over some little thing or other in this life. Maybe it goes all the way back to the garden when Adam and Eve were given the authority to take dominion over their surroundings. Katy and I have been taking dominion over hundreds of dust balls and loving every minute of it! Happy spring cleaning to you, too!

Thank you, Lord, for the little things we can control. We feel your pleasure as we work around our home. We joyfully accept this new strength as a gift from you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Ahh! New arrangement! My roommate and I did that just last week - even with only 4 weeks left in the semester, we just needed that little change… and oh man, did it turn out to be a big change! We both love it and breathe a little easier in our new surroundings :) hope the change feels good… were you able to enjoy the nice day?? Hope you can get outside while it’s warm! Love in Christ, Aleah

Hello everyone! The kids and I are back from Charlotte where we took part in the Walk to Cure Diabetes with my neice, Emily. We had nearly 60 walkers in “Emily’s Entourage!” It was a great day and a pleasant weekend spending time with my brother and his family. We’re glad to be home and have also been spring cleaning while David is on “vacation.” So far, David has redone our master bathroom with the help of Larry Harding (new vanity top, toilet, floor, mirror), plus we replaced our mailbox, trimmed trees, and are cleaning out closets, our basement, garages, etc! Some vacation, but it’s stuff we’ve needed to get done for a long time and there just doesn’t seem to be time during our regular routine. Like you said, it feels good to move things around and create a new look!

We are praying for you always and covet your updates which proclaim pain-free days and nights!

Katy’s saga has been one of the most inspirational tales I’ve ever read. Your entire family is in my prayers. It’s funny how when times become difficult we can notice little every day blessings to help us through our days. God is indeed good! Love, Bob

Wonderful, Katy and Dawn! I got a mist of tears in my eyes with your closing prayer. How precious to you “normal life” is now. I love you all so much and keep you in frequent prayer. And its so special to be reminded that heaven is all around us - just in a different dimension.

Today I’ve been at the hospital with one of our elderly ladies (90 this fall!) for cataract surgery. She was expecting to go home and be by herself after the surgery! But I thought “no way”, especially after she was feeling nauseated and looked so pale following the surgery. So she’s had a little chicken noodle soup and is resting in bed - and I’ve re-sched. my perm appt. at 4 Pm till 2 Pm tomorrow… and I’ll spend the night with her at her house - she’ll be more comfortable there - and has to go see each her eye doctors at 9:30 and 11 tomorrow AM. Things going not QUITE according to my plan, but its a privilege to take care of this dear saint. I will tenderly fuss over her! She’s one of several elderly ladies that we usually go to lunch out with on Sundays after church, They all adore Uncle Tony, (doesn’t everybody!) usually the only male among 5 or 6 ladies! She has only a nephew and wife who live in north Seattle, and he is out of state and his wife works. Another lady from the church often does such things for her, but she is also away. So its my turn- I can do the perm and get packing tomorrow. Its 5 pm your time, so I’m thinking dinner will be on soon. Here the temps are up to the high 50s today, but yesterday in Rio de Janeiro it was 91! and humid. It should be coming down a little…we hope!

    Love so much, Aunt Lil

Thanks for sharing the concept of “taking dominion” over dust balls! That communicates! (and there are some here that need to have dominion taken over them!)

Just wanted to say how sorry we were to have missed seeing you on Saturday at the shower, and to let you know again that we are lifting Katie up in prayer, and also the whole family.

Praise God for His provision of caring, diligent doctors. Praise God for thankfulness for little blessings that become huge blessings. Praise God for shining through your lives.

    Love to you all,
