An 800 calorie day

I’m happy to report tonight that Katy had a good day. It started at 2:00 am when her dad got home. We all met him in the kitchen and chatted until 3:30 am. We loved seeing him walk through the door! When we all went to bed I left Katy her next dose of medication on the night side stand and when I woke up late this morning I went to her room and discovered that she did not wake up to take it! I knew her pain level had to be lower for that to happen. It remained at a level 4 all day and she was able to eat another thing she had been craving. I took her out for a veggie sub at Subway. She enjoyed a six inch sub and we went to a park and a fabric store after that. It was a beautiful day, and she was feeling good. I can’t explain how she has made this turn around but we see the hand of God and His goodness in it. I know it wasn’t the donuts but your funny comments cheered us. We are in constant prayer and praise around here. Every day brings some new surprise and blessing.

    Hey guys!
Just checking in before I turn into a pumpkin for the evening! Yea for the 800 calorie day!! That is great news that the pain was more manageble and you were able to get outside and enjoy some of this wonderful weather!

We have been in and out all day long as well - Lydia has discoved the joy of bubbles so I spend a lot of time sitting in front of the house, blowing bubbles and watching my two little ones chase them! I’ve noticed that boys like to stomp and pop - girls like to chase and try to catch…It’s been wonderful because I can sit while they wear themselves out!!!

I had another OB visit today and everything is still going well - 28 weeks!! I had to drink a sugar solution for the 1 hr glucose test that they give to test for gestational diabetis and it was terrible!!! Totally set me teeth on edge - so on the way home - I endulged in cheese sticks from Sonic! After the sugar drink I was craving salty - I’ve never had them before - and like Dawn (when I’m not pregnant) I can be a bit of a health nut - but they were yummy! So if you ever need to kick those calories up - I’m betting that would definitly help!! hehehehe!

Love ya’ll! Praying for good rest this evening!
    Jess

    Hey Katy,
I am so glad that you had a good night’s sleep, as that is so important to helping a person to feel better.
As for the donut……well…..you must have great self control to have left Paul Burton one. Me….I’m a pig, I would have eaten them all!!! GRIN
Our computer was attacked by a virus, and I have been able to use it although rather sparingly, and we think that Tommy has finally gotten rid of it.
Anyway, I am counting the days down til your next Remicade treatment, and hope you continue to hold your own with God’s help of course.
    Take care

    Katy,
HOORAY!!! I’m so pleased and thankful to hear of your good day. I’ll be praying for another one for tomorrow! And aren’t those Subway subs good? I love ‘em. :-)
    Love and prayers,
    Jen :-)

So glad to hear things are a bit better. Hmmmm….wonder if that fatty foods thing only applies to flare ups - seems I crave all the naughty foods in life ALL THE TIME! Grin. I think part of it is stress and part of it is doing too much etc.

What I wouldn’t give for a few weeks off just to detox my life - from house cleaning to healthier eating. Be careful what you wish for though. Grin.

It is so nice to know that these days are a bit better than you expected. Praise God! I think of you all so often and pray for you every chance I get. Take care!

Katy ate a sub? The Navy is gonna be ticked…

I dunno, “veggie sub” sounds like an oxymoron! I think you need a trip to the New Yorker deli on Williamson Road where they pile like 2 pounds of kosher salami, bologna, and pastrami on a 14 inch roll and top it with drippy cole slaw and banana peppers! Now there’s a sub to be proud of! Then you chase it with a huge slice of NY-style cheesecake smothered with gooey cherries. There’s enough calories to last you through Thanksgiving! ;-)
