Banding Together

I’m happy to report tonight that after calling Katy’s doctor last night and his office again this morning her Remicade treatment has been rescheduled to this coming Monday. There is an ongoing battle to be prayed over concerning insurance coverage and we can band together and pray that through too. I am learning to be steadfast and resolved in order to push for what Katy needs, but in a way that reflects Christ at all times. I know that your prayers are keeping us from blowing up at times when medical help is needed but not given in a timely way.

Your prayers for Katy have been answered today. Her spirit remains peaceful, although Monday can’t come soon enough as far as she’s concerned! We studied our Bibles and had prayer with our friend Barbara this afternoon. I’ve been giving Katy soft foods and plenty of liquids to keep her hydrated. I know we can make it until Monday. It won’t be easy, but it is within sight, and that gave Katy a hopeful attitude today.

I want to thank my friend, Donna, for coming to the house today. She was here to pitch in while I got caught up on several household chores, and tonight I feel the victory of being more on top of things. Yesterday my friend Lynda came and weeded the flower beds. God sends help in many ways and we see His hand in it all.

I’m including the picture of Daniel again tonight because it blesses me to think that what looked like danger on a human level was another opportunity for God to show His power and glory. Katy’s set-backs are the same; another opportunity to witness God’s glory.

Wow! Praise the Lord! We’ve been praying all day. I am so glad you’ve been getting some help, Dawn. I’ve not been available this week, since I’m holding down the fort here, but I’ve really wanted to come and help out. We will continue to pray that she will make it through the weekend victoriously. We love you!

  2. Karen Tillman Says:

Katy, I just knew that things would work out. I just had that peace about it!!! I know Monday probably seems like an eternity, but with God’s strength to carry you through, you with the help of our heavenly Father can do it!! The battles with insurance unfortunately are something in the life of those with chronic illnesses that will remain a constant, so just keep your chins up and your eyes upon Him.

  3. Aunt Carrie Says:

I do read your blog faithfully, usually about lunchtime at work. I prefer to comment from home though, and getting computer time is not always easy. :~)

When I was praying for you today, I envisioned those lions, not only with their mouths closed, but also laying meekly with their paws over their snouts.

We are so thankful to hear that you will be able to get treatment so much sooner (although Monday does seem far away).

    Love and prayers,
    Aunt Carrie

  4. LInda Burk Says:

HI all, We are so hopeful the weekend goes well for Katie and the family.
We have news to share. Julianna is expecting a baby in January.
She is feeling well and very excited. Jack , of course, is sure it is a boy.
School is out so I am busy doing all the chores that were skipped during the school year. Julianna and I went to the beach last week for a few days. We enjoyed great weather. It looks like the cool weather is coming back for this weekend. We wish you beautiful cool evenings to sit outside and enjoy your fabulous property. Love to all, Linda

  5. Doris Harriff Says:

God has answered prayer over the insurance company balking before, and I’m confident He will do so again!

  6. Martha Rorabaugh Says:

    Dear Katie,

I have been following your blog since Lillian Oliveira told us in church about you. Your faith and thankful heart are a real inspiration to me! A couple of months ago you shared a link to choirs of school children from Cheshire singing “Emmanuel” which you said was a little like the children you heard singing in heaven. I would like to share with you this link to a 6 year old girl singing with the sweetest voice I have ever heard.
