Family and Friends

It’s me again, (Dan). I just received a call from Dawn. Another surprise! While katy was being prepped for release from the hospital, the nurses found that her body was rejecting here Port-a-Cath (IV). While this will delay her release, it is good that it was discovered before she went home and it’s another discovery into how Katy’s body works. It tells the doctors something they didn’t know previously and gives insight into how to treat her in the future. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for the Campbells. You will never know how your prayers support and encourage this family and what a difference it has made.

Now, just listen to this! After all this girl has gone through in the last year - the ups and downs of treatment and pain, so many trips back and forth to the hospital and the doctors for testing and treatment, continual poking with sharp things that hurt like crazy, and battles with discouragement - When Dawn called, I could hear Katy laughing in the background. This was just shortly after she found out she couldn’t go home. I heard her laughing! That’s the Lord and your prayers. So keep it up my friends. Keep it up. Your prayers are being answered by the minute, by the hour, and by the day. God is faithful, and He is good.

  2. Barbara Walker Says:

    Dear Katy and Family,

Sorry your release was delayed but better to get all the t’s crossed and not have to go back!

I, like Dan, was amazed at Katy’s attitude while spending time with her. Her total acceptance of her condition and everthing that had happened to her over the past months was amazing to behold! Katy, you are undoubtedly one of the most precious people God put on this Earth and are an inspiration to all of us - even us seasoned folks!

    Love to all in Christ,

  3. Andrea Says:

    Praise the Lord!

I love to read the good updates, I just love it.
I never saw a young person like Katy that takes all this setbacks and laughs. This can only be God that is working through her and laughing with her.

    Love you Katy

  4. Karen Tillman Says:

    Hey Katy,

I am sure sry to hear about the port a cath. Is this part of what the infection you have going on is about or are they 2 different things. I am also glad that you are in good spirits as that is exactly what it takes to get through all this kind of stuff. It gives credence to the saying Laughter is the best medicine. I am so glad that God gave us laughter for sure.
    Love and prayers

  5. Rich Kochendarfer Says:

Just a quick note to let you know Rich and I continue to pray for you and your family. It’s early as I’m writing this . . . the temperature is cool and there’s a slight breeze. I’m hopeful you’ll be home soon and able to sit on the porch and enjoy God’s creation. Know you are loved and thought of during the day more times than you can imagine!
