No Improvement

This has been a very long day for Katy. She has been in bed for the better part of the day. I am thinking I need to find out why her pain medication is not doing anything to relieve the misery she is experiencing. We’re praying for answers to this bone pain and abdominal issues. She has been very careful with her diet. She doesn’t believe these flare ups are food related based on what the rest of her body feels like. It is possible that she is still needing more potassium or magnesium. If she isn’t better by tomorrow I want to take her to the doctor. Perhaps she’ll feel better in the morning.

Our small group from church came for a picnic this afternoon. Katy was not able to join us but I am learning to detach myself and continue on with plans even though Katy was distressed physically. As a mom it is so hard to separate ourselves from an ailing child. Katy cheered me on, which helps too. Our small group surprised us with a gift for Qavah! It is a little table and chair set for her homeschooling. It is adorable, and once it was put into Qavah’s room, Katy was motivated to get up and see it. We all go into Qavah’s room to look at it and smile. It’s fun to be in there thinking about her. I’m sure she will have many precious memories of working at her little table. I’ll have precious memories of friends who continue to bless us!

It is hard to read posts like this, especially after you had been feeling so well for a while — the Lord is fighting for you both, Katy and Dawn. I pray today that you feel His hand on you, giving you strength and peace. I pray the pain melts away into rejoicing! Continue to lift your spirits by acknowledging all the gifts He has given you — that’s what you have taught me to do in times of pain and struggle! Peace to you today. In Christ, Aleah

I’m saddened to hear about Katy’s pain as well. I will continue to life her up to our great High Preist. I appreciate your honesty about the discouragement - it means so much to know that you guys are real in your posts. We love you all so much!

    Katy,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a rough time. I know it’s not easy. Still, God blesses us through the trials He sends and I pray that you will be able to find those blessings, even through the pain.
My family and I will be in Colorado for the next two weeks on vacation. I wish I had some way to keep up with this website while we’re gone but I don’t think I’ll have any internet access. I will continue to pray for you though and will try to come see you when we get back and life (hopefully) slows down some. I just wanted to let you know so you wouldn’t think I’d quit reading or caring.
    Hang in there, dear heart!
    Love and prayers,
    Jen :)

Dear Ones, so very sorry to hear of all Katy’s distrress and continue to pray much for her! I DID make it safely on the airplane to St. Pete, after that mad scramble! Thank the Lord! And and having a heavenly time here! Yesterday I learned to “hang out”. My dear pastor friends that I was staying with had an afternoon meeting and invited me to use the beautiful screened pool in their private back yard. I got into an inner tube and “hung out” in total relaxation, with the Lord for over an hour, then climbed out and sat and talked to the Lord. About you folks, for one. And while I was floating in the pool the Lord reminded me where Katy can find the Hebrew and Greek alphabets. Psalm 119 is a seiries of verses for each letter of the alphabet and my NIV Bible has the symbol and the name at the top of each section. Look for that. On your computer, if you have a script type that says “symbol”, on my computer that is the Greek alphabet. You can print it out and I can help you with pronunciations and how to say them when I get back on Sat eve or Sunday. Katy, I hope and pray that you feel well enough soon to take a look at these projects you are hungry to learn a little of.

Correction!! I know only 5 languages plus a little Greek and a few Hebrew phrases! Today I am with my friend Vivian.

    Much love, Aunt LIl

    Dear Katy,
I am so sry that you aren’t feeling well, and hope that you didn’t have to go to the doctor for pain management, but I will pray for you today anyway and watch for a post later tonight. I myself have been very busy volunteering at the hospital as of late filling in for those on vacation. One of our secretaries just got back from a missions trip toSouth Africa, and I just cried while she told of her experiences with the children there. One of them was so precious that one of the team members is going to try and adopt. All these children have some type of disability. It made me think of Qavah and the joy your family must be experiencing. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
    Love
    Karen Tillman
