A Joy Day

Today was the day we have all been praying for. There were no pain medications given today. All symptoms of the overdose subsided and Katy ate a good meal at lunch and dinner. She smiled easily, and shared the day with a friend. The girls talked of decorating, movies, the books they were reading, and the things God was teaching them. All the normal things. The wonderful things that we all do everyday without even thinking.

Watching Katy sit up and enjoy the company of others is such an uplifting thing for our family. We have seen her struggle through so many hardships that just having her join us for a meal is special. Today was a day we had been longing for and we want to thank all of you for the fervent prayers you have prayed on her behalf.

Your comments on the last post filled our souls right up to the top and overflowing. Thank you for the scripture and quotes that help us stay focused on the One Who leads us beside the still waters; the One Who calms our fears.

    Hey guys!
It’s been a while since I posted but I have been reading and praying for Katy daily! I just wanted to let you know that I’m so happy about this good day - I know it’s been a long time in coming and it’s such a blessing! The Lord has sustained you and carried you and given you so much grace to accept some of the mistakes - you are a walking testimony of His faithfulness!

To give you a quick update on our news - we have a new addition to our family as of Monday! Our little guy made a big entrance - we just barely made it to the hospital - he was born 9 minutes after we parked the car and got into a room! Needless to say - it was quite an adventure! He’s a very sweet baby - he eats well and sleeps like a champ! We are totally enjoying him! I would love to bring him by to ‘visit’ and tell you the whole fun story - It’s a story of God’s perfect timing - which I know you will love. If you are having a good day on Monday - I have a sitter for the other two kids and the baby and I could make a trip over! :) Just let me know if that would work!

    We love ya’ll so much!
