Wednesday night

It was a difficult night trying to keep potassium levels and everything in balance. When morning came, Katy said she wanted to go to the doctor so I called the endocrinologist and asked for an appointment. When we got there we waited for a long time to see him. Then when the doctor looked at her, he called for an ambulance! So we went to the hospital and spent the day getting her stabilized. We were faced with a decision after all her tests returned at the end of the day. Do we leave her when everything is back to normal or do we take her home and hope for a better night. We decided to bring her home and that is where we are tonight. Please pray that whatever is wrong will be discovered. For now, we are home, praying, and staying calm. That is where we all want to be.

We are so sorry that, once again, the rollercoaster seems to be presenting you with another twist that you didn’t see coming. We’re glad you’re home tonight and will be praying that the night is uneventful and restful and, as you said, that whatever is wrong will be quickly discovered and remedied!!!

Blessings to you all in Christ,
    -David & Jennifer

  4. Lillian Oliveira Says:

Lord Jesus, You have promised to give Katy “a future and a hope - that You have “plans for good and not for evil” for her. The night is pretty dark tonight, Father, one mystery upon another, pain and suffering, sleepless nights. Thank for Doctors, for hospitals that help, and for the haven of home and family. Show them Your Stars of Hope in this dark night. We ask, Father, in Jesus Name, to restore the function of her adrenal glands - it will take a miracle from Your hand, and bring to light the reason for this last piece of misery. Use her patient suffering for the honor of Your Holy Name and for Your Holy purposes. Do not waste ANY of Katy’s suffering, Father, but use it to bring encouragement and hope and the ability to endure to others. I ask it in Jesus’ Name.

    Love from Aunt Lil

  5. Aleah Yunger Says:

Our Father has brought you miracles of wisdom before (those hunches or skilled doctors that land right on your doorstep). Today, I pray for another of those miracles. He has plans higher than any of us who know of your story can imagine. He has promised, like Lil said, plans for good and not for evil — and though you suffer, I pray that you can still rejoice in your heart that your Savior is walking with you and that ultimately, you are walking the path to His glory. Stay strong today, Katy — keep your mind and heart focused on the Lord and use His strength to keep from getting discouraged. There is a purpose and an end in all of this that goes beyond any of us here on earth, and in times like these, it is the only thing we can cling to that will allow us to “keep on keepin’ on.” Praying for miracles of wisdom and endurance for you today! In Christ, Aleah

  6. Barbara Walker Says:

The nights are certainly scary and intimadating when you or someone is ill and you’re not sure what to do. I believe there are a lot of us called upon by the Lord to pray for you and your family during these nights. Dawn, your instincts have been so on track - we all know that the Lord is your Shepherd during this tumultous time. I pray for the wisdom of doctors and the peace that passes all understanding for all of you.

    Love in Christ,

    Barbara

  7. Jennifer S. :-) Says:

    Katy,
I know it must be disheartening to be back on the shadowy side of this mountain, but God will bring you into the sunshine again. I’m relearning (again) what it means to trust in Him totally and completely as one of my dear friends has left for Iraq for a year. I know that it’s difficult when we don’t know what God’s reasons are for circumstances, but His grace is sufficient. I pray that it will be abundantly sufficient for you and your family!
    Love and prayers,
    Jen :-)

  8. Doris Harriff Says:

When I was reading the Bible for my morning devotions, I came across a verse that immediately made me think of Katy:
Psalm 71:20 - Thou, which hast showed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

  9. Sandy Says:

I’m sorry that things are still such a rollercoaster for Katy this week. Getting everything in balance when there are so many different things going on in her body must be so challenging. I hope today has been a better day. Prayers continue from here!

  10. Martha Harrison Says:

Sometimes there seems to be more darkness right before the dawn! Dear God, we want to see the light of morning in this suffering Katy has been going through. We know your ways are not our ways, and You love Katy more than even her family and friends. We know you wouldn’t let her suffer for naught, but how long Lord, how long? Please bring healing to her body very soon…..give Katy and her family peace. Their faith and trust is in You, Father, our Great Physician. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

Katy, many prayers are being prayed for you. Your name has been added to our church prayer list.
    Love, Martha

  11. Heather Kirkwood Says:

    Hey Katy,
Praying for you here - so sorry things are once again wonky, but I hope the docs are getting to the bottom of it. What a year it has been. Hang in there girl!

  12. Candice & Crystal Sipe Says:

Dear Katy, We have missed talking to you online. We are hoping and praying that today was a better day and that your endocrinologist can provide you with some answers. How frusterating I am sure this is for all of you. You are an example to all of us on how you never give up. It is encouraging to know there are people all around the US praying you through. Hopefully, this next year will be a better year for you all. Love, Candice & Crystal
