Four Days of Normal

We are happy to report tonight that it was another good day. The doctor appointment went well. It was very interesting. When Katy is really miserable, she doesn’t communicate. She doesn’t want to talk. Today, when her doctor asked questions or made statements she didn’t agree with, she was downright feisty. It was fabulous to watch because I think it may have surprised the doctor we saw today. She has a mind of her own when it comes to her care and was able to express it. I could always tell when her health was improving at RMH because she would start interacting more and asking for food from the cafeteria rather than eating the hospital food. Today she was happy to speak up for herself and we are again, filled with joy for another normal day.

  1. Jennifer Blugerman Says:

We are thrilled that you’ve have several days of good old-fashioned ordinary! Once again, the Lord’s timing is perfect. I know you must be anxious about having things managable before Qavah arrives. Have another great day today just being “normal!” Great to hear that Katy’s spunk has returned! You go girl!!!

  2. Jim Says:

“Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him all creatures here below,
Praise Him above ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.” Amen!

  3. Heather Kirkwood Says:

PTL! I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to hear you’re having more “normal days!!!”

  4. Sandy Says:

Hooray Hooray Hooray for every normal day!! :)

  5. Lillian Oliveira Says:

I cant write much today as I have pretty severely burned two fingertips on a hot plate, so this is the hunt and peck style. But wanted to remind you to look again at James 1;17, which I had great joy memorizing and studying in the Greek this AM. The good and PERFECT gifts all come from the Father of Lights, with Whom there is no change (eternally unchanging) and never any shadowing of His Light. The perfect means COMPLETE, or fully matured, as you may know, and it means that these gifts, to be truly good, have been studied out from beginning to end, PLANNED, so that the side effects and end effects are GOOD for the ones receiving the primary gift, and also those affected by it. So this Doctor is to be a GOOD gift, Qavah will be a good and perfect gift - God plans from eternity’s perspective, as well as for each normal day. He is the Father who dwells in “unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see” (but Jesus) But the time is coming when “we will know as we are known”, and will also enter into that wonderful Light.
(This verse was the only thing I had written in my devotional diary the day Tony wrote and asked me to come from Africa to meet him in Lisbon, where we were engaged on Easter 1985.)

    Love and prayers, Aunt Lil

  6. Karen Tillman Says:

    Dear Katy,
I am truly thirlled that you are finally getting some very much needed relief.
