Remicade Bag

Last night was a blur! Katy had a hard time with pain management, prednisone, and electrolytes. Therefore she got very little sleep. A couple of days before the Remicade treatment the inflammation throughout her body begins. Her ears close off making it very painful and she doesn’t hear very well. It is hard for her to talk because her throat also becomes involved, so basically the few days before Remicade are draining. At those times we pray that she’ll sleep. Last night Paul and I gave her a gift of a small black medical bag. It is very fancy with lots of pockets. We told her that it is her new Remicade bag to be packed with everything wonderful for the afternoon at Roanoke Memorial. It has a place for nail care products, a good book and magazine, a little make-up and other fun things. She packed it last night and enjoyed a pedicure and manicure today while the medicine was being infused.

The Remicade treatment went so well that by the third hour she was hearing better. When we got into the car to come home Katy prayed for the people who prayed for her today. She just started praying right out loud for your family time to be blessed tonight. We know that prayer is a powerful tool, and to be effective it must be used! God already knows what we need but by praying to Him we accept a friendship with Him where we can talk to Him at any time. Prayer, even when we don’t feel like it, is working for us. It helps us to acknowledge that there is only One Who can be trusted with the greatest needs and desires of our hearts. Thank you for trusting God to hear you as you pray for Katy. We trust that He hears us as we pray for you!

Here is a picture of a happy girl tonight sporting hot pink fingers and toes.

Dawn and Paul, YOU ARE SUCH WONDERFUL CARING PARENTS for this beseiged daughter! And you are so creative! I know Katy LOVES this kind ot thing. I can just hear her saying “I LOVE it!” which I’m sure she did. I hope and pray that the time will come when there will be a way to bridge that gap of several days before Remicaide time. Katy, “Be still and know that I am God.”

    Love, Aunt Lil
