Travel Plans

This day has been filled with good things. We have been getting ready to go for Qavah, and scrambling to finish projects this weekend that we don’t want hanging over us when we get back. Every time I saw Katy today she was busy doing something. She has been feeling very well. Last night she was able to host a Missions Committee meeting here at the house after having a full day. We are grateful beyond words that she is feeling that way. We can leave her knowing that she is on medication that is actually working quite well. She also has a steady stream of family and friends coming to stay or visit with her while we are away.

Qavah is busy in Louisiana packing her things. Her foster mother is putting things in a big box until we get there with her luggage. I wonder what things we will discover about her by the things she has packed to bring home with her. Paul and I are so thankful for the way things have worked out. It is turning out to be quite an adventure. We are heading to the town that is the first settlement in the Louisiana purchase. Neither of us know anything about it but I expect before we leave Paul will read all about it. I said something tonight at dinner about life being an adventure and Paul said, “adventure is just another word for trouble.” I knew that had to be a line from a book and asked him which one. He grinned and said, “Louis L’Amour.”

    Hi Katy,

I’m so glad you’re doing well. We will be praying for your parents as they travel to LA to pick up Qavah. How exciting that you’ll have your new little sister next week.

  4. Aleah Yunger Says:

God truly is faithful to deliver the things He puts on our hearts. I can’t believe there will be a little one in your house in only about a week! I know you are all excited and I will be praying for your travel. That’s quite a long drive… take it slow and try to stay cool! This little girl is so blessed, I can say that for sure. Love, Aleah

  5. Laura Griffith Says:

I’ll pray for a safe trip to and fro. I know you wanted it to be different but we all know the Lord works in mysterious ways. Would love to introduce Lorien to Qavah whenever you think it is beneficial :)

  6. Bob Cirba Says:

It gives my heart a lift to hear that Katy is doing well. Congratulations on bring home the new sister. Y’know, looking at the face photos, if I hadn’t heard that you adopted Katy, I’d assume that you were her bio-mom! lol I’ll bet I’m not the first to say that. God bless, Bob

  7. Aunt Pat Says:

I has been a long time since I have had any correspondance with you but sorry that it has been a long time. I have had trouble connecting with your website. I would get in but couldn’t write or would get in and loose it right away or couldn’t get in at all. Well, Steve and Lois were here and they helped me get on. I am excited that you will be getting adding a young lady to your family. Qavah is a good name since I know it means HOPE. I will be looking forward to meeting her in the near future. Katy I think of you often and pray often or you as well. You have gone through so much. Love ya.
