A Normal Day

I woke Kathryn up this morning and she said she slept without pain all night. I am so happy I feel super-charged and want to celebrate. I'm thinking about renting a rug shampoo machine and getting in to some serious spring cleaning. I feel that energized!

Qavah's surgery site is looking great. The butterfly tape came off on the fifth day after surgery and her incision has healed nicely. I think that new skin glue and tape is wonderful for children. There is no need for stitch removal a week after surgery.

I am so thankful that this day is off to a normal start. If you've been a long-time blog reader, you know how we love a "normal" day. Whatever you do today, remember how grateful we are that you helped pray us through another hard time.

Qavah just came into the kitchen and got out two bowls and a bag of microwave popcorn from the cupboard. I asked her if she was planning on watching a movie and she said, "Yes, with you!" The carpet cleaning will have to wait. I'm going to watch Cinderella.

  1. I was so thankful to read Tuesday's report that prayers were answered for a good night's sleep for all of you Monday night. However, I was really surprised when Dawn wanted to use renewed energy to scrub floors and pick up dust balls! And now she wants to shampoo rugs--I'm glad that Qavah had other plans and you two can enjoy watching "Cinderella" together. I KNOW THAT THE RUGS AREN'T THAT DIRTY.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily; I am rejoicing with you today for a normal day.
    Much love,

  2. Ah Dawn, Cinderella, one of my all time faves!!! I cannot even count the times Holy and I have watched that video when she was little.
Praise our God for a "normal" day!! I will however continue to pray that more "normal" days are ahead.
    Love and prayers
    Karen Tillman

  3. Whoopee, I'm home! But there was a 4.5 hour delay on our flight so it took all day and I've been looking at 97 emails... Answered a few. So happy for your normal day! And hope some spring weather comes smiling in for all of you soon. That is always so uplifting! Praying for some more normal days and for Kathryn to get lots more done on her thesis! Love, Aunt Lil
