We had a wonderful weekend with family, and our church family. The girls had energy, and health, and enjoyed the visit with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tonight we attended a local church where a presentation was made on the importance of giving America's Foster children a "forever home," thus fulfilling the scripture stating that we are to care for widows and orphans. Paul and I were moved greatly by the presentation. We had our girls with us and when the presentation was over, Qavah asked, "Daddy, can we stop on the way home for some oatmeal cookies?" Paul said, "Yes," and that sent Qavah into a joyful hopping mode. There is great healing of the heart, when orphaned children are adopted and given a "Daddy." When the time comes for Qavah to process her past, I'm thankful that she can factor in the sweetness of an oatmeal cookie, and a Daddy who delights in giving her good things.
